COMMERCIAL DATA ANALYST/ VISUAL BASIC EXPERT in London (England, UK)
We are looking for a Commercial Data Analyst for our client, an international publishing company, leader in its sector, to join their Analytics & Pricing team in the heart of London’s business district. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly analytical individual to join a growing project related to big data and cutting edge analytics and make an impact in the e-book and audio-book industry.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Goal: The Commercial Data Analyst will play a critical role in the definition and implementation of best revenue growth strategies in the ever changing e-book industry and the ultra-competitive UK market and also ub improving efficiencies within the team by automating process using Visual Basic or C++. In order to do so, the Data Analyst will have to:
• Improve efficiencies across all the process within the team by implementing process improvement best practices and creating macros in Visual Basic or C++
• Design and implement the Analytics & Pricing Strategy for the digital markets in the UK and Internationally (EMEA, India, Japan, etc.) including pricing best practices, processes, tools, reports and documentation definition
• Proactive market intelligence to understand main factors driving commercial performance for all company digital products (e-books and audiobooks), retailers (Amazon, Apple, Google, etc.) and markets
• Develop an in-depth understanding of competitors’ business models and tactics, as well as best practices
• Manage the internal dynamic pricing process, including working closely with the Data Science, digital operations, and local / global sales teams
• Drive collaboration between a wide range of functions and stakeholders to unleash the potential of big data analytics across the company.
• Create in-depth analysis for high level stakeholders, ranging from the CEO to Senior VPs.
REQUIREMENTS
• Education: Degree in Engineering, Economics Applied Mathematics, Statistics or related fields. MBA or Post-Graduate is a plus.
• Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume transactional data environment such as Digital Publishing, Travel, E-commerce or Telco industries and in building robust pricing models whilst seeking and identifying opportunities to improve performance. Experience in communicating with all levels of the business and stakeholders. Appropriately documenting project work for future reference or review. Proficiency in Excel (familiar with Visual Basic, Macros, Index, Match, VLookup, HLookup, etc…)
• Mandatory skills: Proficient in Visual Basic or C++, SQL and Excel (Macros, Index, Match, VLookup, HLookup, etc…).
• Languages: Fluent English
