The Nicodemus Group at The Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine (IGMM; http://www.igmm.ac.uk/) has an exciting opportunity for highly-motivated Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuroimaging, Genetics and Machine Learning in Psychiatric Disorders.
The post holder will participate in neuroimaging data collection and analysis of cases with bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder using a novel task, as well as statistical analysis and methodology development within the deeply-phenotyped Generation Scotland Cohort Study (www.generationscotland.org) including novel speech/language data, genomics, methylation, cognition, social cognition and personality.
Experience in collecting and analysing fMRI data is required; experience in analysis of genomic data and/or machine learning is desirable.
Within the Nicodemus group there is strong support for statistical and machine learning algorithm methodology development. The post is suitable for a neuroimaging scientist with interest in multidisciplinary approaches to translational medicine. Good project management and interpersonal skills are desirable, as well as experience in supervising junior staff and students. The post is available to EU and UK researchers only for 12 months fixed term, with a possibility of extension.
The IGMM is a dynamic, biomedical research-driven Institute with a new, state-of-the-art Systems Medicine Building opening in 2015, designed around our thriving community of computational and statistical researchers.
