Post-Doctoral positions in Economics

The Department of Economic, Financial and Actuarial Mathematics of the University of Barcelona invites applications for a three-year Post-Doctoral position beginning in September 2020. Fields of interest:

Behavioral Economics; Decision sciences; Finance; Insurance; Operations Research.
The University of Barcelona is a leading center in southern Europe, with a strong commitment to excellence in research. It enjoys a long tradition of teaching, offering both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in the field of Economics and Business. In this framework, UB School of Economics and UB Business School provide an important platform for research and graduate education in Economics and Business. UB School of Economics encompasses the Master and Doctoral programs in Economics, which are entirely taught in English (www.ub.edu/school-economics). UB Business School encompasses the Masters in Business Research and Actuarial and Financial Sciences

For those candidates doing research in mathematical economics and game theory, there will be the opportunity to carry out research activities in the framework of the group Game Theory and Assignment Markets (GTAM), www.ub.edu/gtam, which is part of the research institute Barcelona Economic Analysis Team (BEAT), www.ub.edu/beat. The goal of this group is to promote research excellence in all aspects of game theory and to contribute with applications to decision-making problems of our society. On the other hand, those candidates with research interest in financial and actuarial mathematics will have the opportunity to carry out research activities in the framework of the Actuarial and Financial Modelling (MFA). The goals of these two research structures are to promote research excellence in actuarial and financial sciences and to disseminate its results to society

Candidates are expected to show outstanding commitment to research and must have obtained a PhD when taking up the position.

Successful applicants will be expected to teach in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs, to develop independent research programs achieving international recognition, and to be involved in the activities promoted by the Department and its research groups.
