Reader/Professor in Biostatistics and Computational Biology (non-clinical)
Salary Range:
£55,340 per annum – Level D- minimum salary for appointment as Reader
£70,350 per annum – Level E- minimum salary for appointment as Professor (Appointment level will depend upon qualifications and experience)

Applications are invited for the new post of Reader / Professor in Biostatistics and Computational Biology in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics within the School of Public Health. The successful applicant will be joining a vibrant and successful research department with a strong tradition of biostatistical and epidemiological research, and excellent epidemiological, cohort and computing resources.

The post holder will be based at the St Mary’s campus (Paddington) as part of the MRC-PHE Centre on Environment and Health hosted by the School. We are leading several high-profile international projects on the application of omics technologies to epidemiology.

We are looking for a candidate with vision and drive, with an established international reputation and a well-attested record of high impact research and expertise in this field of research. The appointee will have a proven track record of grant awards and high-impact publications, with particular emphasis on the analysis of complex, high-dimensional data including omics data.

The appointee must have a higher degree in a relevant research area (MD, MS, PhD or equivalent); experience of training undergraduate and postgraduate students; experience of supervision of higher degrees (PhD, MD(Res)) and junior medical staff. Evidence of management and administration experience would be desirable.

This is a full time, open ended post.
