Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in Probability in the Department of Statistics at the University of Auckland. The Department of Statistics at the University of Auckland is the largest statistics department in Australasia and currently employs approximately 50 staff and supervises 25 PhD students. We teach a full range of courses, cover a broad spectrum of statistical research areas and offer a consulting service (see web site: www.stat.auckland.ac.nz.)

Applicants should have a PhD and a strong research record in Probability or related fields. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake original research and secure external funding, and to collaborate with other members of the probability group, the department as a whole, and outside the University. They will also be expected to teach in the Department's academic programme at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including coordinating courses in probability theory and applications, and supervising research students towards Honours, Masters and Doctoral degrees.
