Our newly restructured Department is seeking an outstanding faculty member to serve as Chief of the Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. The Division supports the design and analysis of clinical, translational, and health services research and serves as an academic home for biostatistics and epidemiology at the Medical College and Graduate School. The Division also provides the leadership and staffing for the Research Methodology Core of the Medical College.
The Division Chief will play a leadership role in the design and execution of pre-clinical, clinical, and health services research throughout the Medical College in collaboration with the Weill Cornell and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Joint Clinical Trials Office, the Weill Cornell Clinical and Translational Science Center, and multiple Departments, Centers and Institutes. The Chief will further develop the Division's capabilities to support these research activities across the institution and to engage in leading edge methodological and applied research.
The Division Chief will receive a faculty appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City as an Associate or Full Professor, depending on experience. The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a closely related field. The candidate should have an extensive track record of independent and interdisciplinary collaborative research (e.g., SPORE grants), as well as success in extramural funding and program development. Expertise in clinical trials is highly valued. Collaborative leadership skills are critical. The Department is a collaborative and innovative group organized across 5 divisions.
