We are seeking candidates for a post-doc position associated with the EU project FP7-ICT-619209 entitled 'AMIDST: Analysis of massive data streams' under the work program 'Scalable data analytics'. The aim of the project is to develop a scalable framework that facilitates efficient analysis and prediction based on information captured in streaming data. The project spans until December 2016 and is a collaboration involving three academic partners as well as three industrial partners.
As a post-doctoral researcher in the project you will be developing models and algorithms for prediction and monitoring of streaming data. The main focus will be the development of (approximate) inference and learning techniques for probabilistic graphical models, where the algorithmic developments will be driven by the specific use-cases supplied by the industrial partners in the project. Key parts of the developed algorithms will be implemented in an open source software system.
Requirements:
- PhD in computer science, statistics, or related field.
- Experience with probabilistic graphical models.
- Experience in data mining/machine learning.
- Excellent programming skills.
- Publication record in peer-reviewed conferences and journals.
- Excellent level of both written and spoken English.
- Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with others.
