Researcher:
PhD researcher position offered to work on a technical H2020 LIFES50+ research project in the field of Offshore Wind Energy and Energy Economics. Within this project, tailor made models for the assessment of floating structures for offshore wind farms will be developed in order to consider technical, environmental and economic aspects related to offshore plants (wind turbines, platforms, cable routing and electricity distribution, maintenance aspects, dismantling,..), from a life cycle perspective.This professional/student must have high education qualifications and, if possible, some experience in renewable energies, life cycle assessment (LCA), economic assessment (LCC) and/or optimization tools. Capability to work in a team, flexible, innovative, with initiative and problem solving skills. High level of analytical and synthesis skills.The professional/student is expected to provide engineering support for the energy economics aspects of IREC projects integrated as part of the Energy Efficiency in Systems and Communities Research Area.
Qualifications and experience required:
Essential:The call is open to graduate students from any nationalities that fulfil the following eligibility criteria: - Hold a Master Degree in the areas of Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Chemistry Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Materials Engineering, or an equivalent degree allowing to pursue doctoral studies. It is suggested that the master degree is no more than three year old.
Preferred: Knowledge and experience in projects in the electrical energy sector, especially in electrical energy markets and energy regulation, electrical engineering and renewable energies (specially wind power) Knowledge of financial aspects related to energy projects. Good communication skills; ability to communicate complex scientific information to individuals from other disciplines.

Salary:
Salaries will be paid in accordance with the IREC’s salary policy, depending on the candidate’s qualification and professional experience.
