Assistant Professor – Statistics
The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Statistics. The Department has a strong graduate program offering both MS and PhD degrees in statistics, and in pure and applied mathematics. The department is dedicated to excellence in both research and teaching.
Statistics faculty in the department is involved in both methodological and interdisciplinary research. Their research interests include Bayesian methods and statistical methods for massive data, in general, and computer experiments, high-dimensional data analysis, statistical machine learning, and graphical models, in particular.
The normal teaching load for research-active faculty is 6 credit hours per semester with a 25% reduction for new faculty in each of the first 2 years and a reduced service role. The job duties include maintaining an active research program In Statistics to constantly seek external funding, to mentor graduate students, and to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses in Statistics and related areas.
