The Department of Statistics has about 30 employees, whereof about 10 PhD students. Our main research areas are causal inference, econometrics/time series analysis, high dimensional multivariate linear models, and structural equation modelling.

IFAU - The Institute for Evaluation of Labour Market and Education Policy is a research institute situated in Uppsala. IFAU is a dynamic academic environment at the frontline of labor and applied economic research. IFAU conduct research within our fields of research, i.e., labor market policy, the functioning of labor markets, education policy and the labor market effects of social insurances. IFAU’s goal is academic excellence and policy relevant research to provide a basis for better policies and practices.

The Department of Statistics and IFAU are looking for a PhD student in Statistics which can perform high quality methodological statistical research within the field of Causal Inference in Observational Studies with applications in labor economics.

Starting date: 1st of March 2021 or according to agreement.
