Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Empirical Likelihood, NUS, Singapore

Postdoctoral Research Fellow in National University of Singapore

Salary: According to International Standards
Job Location: Singapore
Hours: Full time
Term: 2 years

Hello All,

This is an advertisement to fill a vacant position of a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Statistics and Applied Probability at the National University of Singapore. The position is available immediately, or as soon as the current global situation permits and would initially be for two years.

The research fellow will work with Sanjay Chaudhuri on the broad topic of empirical likelihood. The objective of the project is to study the theoretical properties and possible applications of high dimensional empirical likelihood-based methods. However, various topics involving empirical likelihood shall be pursued. These would include studies of theoretical behaviours of empirical likelihood in high dimensional settings, under mis-specification, in Bayesian settings and on data-sets collected through complex surveys, among others. One goal of the project would be to find efficient computational tools for empirical likelihood-based estimates in both frequentist and Bayesian settings. The research fellow would be expected to work on all theoretical, computational and applied aspects of the project.

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in statistics, probability, mathematics or applied mathematics with a strong background in mathematical and methodological statistics. Working knowledge of the empirical likelihood or its application is not required, but certainly would be a great advantage.

Remuneration is negotiable, but would certainly meet international standards.

Details about Sanjay Chaudhuri's research can be found in the following website.
