JOB: Post doc position in sensor data analysis for automating food production at Örebro University, Sweden

2 year postdoctoral position (with possibility of extension) within the area of automating food production. The position is a part of a major interdisciplinary research programme "Food and Health" undertaken by Örebro University over the five-year period 2017–2022, and it covers a range of different research fields.

The project is centred on an automated prototype hotbed. The successful candidate will be working with selecting sensors as well as integrating and processing data from these. The work will include both data collection and data processing, where statistical methods as well as AI and machine learning technologies will be applied in order to predict different characteristics in different food plants. In the first phase of the project, sensor data will only be used passively, but the ultimate goal is for the system to be used to control various qualities in the plants.

The Mobile Robotics & Olfaction Lab is one of three research groups within AASS. Our research is recognized world-wide with its focus generally on the development of perception systems for mobile robots. The goal is to advance the theoretical and practical foundations that allow mobile robots to operate in an unconstrained, dynamic environment. The approaches that we develop address real-world needs and are typically characterized by fusion of different sensor modalities. Where possible the results of our research work are timely integrated in industrial demonstrators.
