POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN DATA SCIENCE/STATISTICS IN SÃO CARLOS, BRAZIL
TITLE: Bayesian graph-based models: From structure estimation up to their dynamic
The Research, Innovation and Dissemination Center for Mathematical Sciences Applied to Industry (CeMEAI), hosted by the University of São (USP).
This position is focused on the study of complex structures in large data sets, for instance, industrial problems, crime analysis and urban environments.
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow! Curiosity, open-mind, creativity, persistence, and collaborative-work capability are the key personal skills we target. A Ph.D. in statistics, computer science, applied mathematics or related fields is required, with demonstrated experience and high-quality publications (minimum 3 published articles in high-impact journals, in the last 3 years). Candidates should present previous expertise in high-dimensional spatio-temporal Bayesian models for graph/networks, and background in data science/statistics.
Candidates must have obtained a doctorate degree within the last 3 years. Portuguese speaking is not required, but fluency in English is mandatory.
São Paulo Research Foundation provides the financial support with a monthly salary of R$ 7.373,10 (about US$ 1,700.00). An extra grant is also provided to cover participation in highly relevant conferences and workshops, as well as research trips (limited to 15% of the annual amount of the fellowship). The position is for one year, but it can be extended for an extra year.
