We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic statistician with a significant track record in applied health research, including both publications and grant applications, to fill a key role within the Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit (PCTU) – a UKCRC-registered Clinical Trials Unit with an international profile both in applied healthcare and in methodological research. Clinical strengths of our collaborators include colorectal surgery, mental health, primary care and women’s health. Our methods research addresses challenges in the design, conduct and analysis of pragmatic trials and trials of complex interventions, including innovation in the design of cluster ran-domized and stepped wedge trials, as well as pilot and feasibility studies. The PCTU’s scientific team currently numbers 14 statisticians and five health economists.
The appointment will be made at Senior Lecturer or Lecturer level depending on experience. Job descriptions for both grades are provided. The post-holder will provide significant input to the design of collaborative projects, and the role will help to underpin excellence in all aspects of the Unit’s research and operations. There will also be opportunities to pursue your own methodological research.
