Multicriteria Decision Making With Mathematical Programming
Madrid, February 17 - 28, 2014
The aim of the PhD School is to introduce students in multicriteria decision making with continuous methods, related to mathematical programming. Contents are as follows:
1.- Basic Concepts on Multicriteria Decision Making
2.- Multiobjective Programming: obtaining an efficient set
3.- Compromise Programming: choosing an efficient point
4.- Goal Programming: satisfying logic
5.- Multicriteria Interactive Methods
6.- Group Decision Making
The course is designed to be very practical, following each day 2 hours of theoretical classes where new concepts and methods are introduced, 3 hours (divided in 2 periods) of supervised training in a computing classroom, and 3 hours of personal work.
Students will work in pairs. A different problem will be assigned to each pair on Day 1. Students will work on the assigned problem throughout the course, leading to a final presentation on the last day. The list of problems will be of different sectors, especially focused on logistics and production (humanitarian logistics, power generation, location and routing problems...)
EURO PhD schools are training-oriented and addressed to PhD students.
