Temporary (2-year) Lectureship in Statistics

We are currently advertising a 2-year lectureship in Statistics at University of Kent to provide cover for a member of staff who has a fellowship.
We are specifically seeking someone with experience of statistical and probabilistic modelling of financial data who can contribute to our teaching and research in financial statistics (including particularly supervision of projects for our MSc in Statistics with Finance).
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute strongly to both teaching and research within the Statistics Group. Teaching is likely to involve both the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The successful candidate will have an established track record in research, evidenced by publications in high quality statistical journals, and will be expected to further enhance the international research profile of the Statistics Group both individually and through interactions with other members of the Group.
The Statistics Group at Kent consists of 3 Professors, 1 Reader, 3 Senior Lecturers 6 Lecturers, 1 Post-Doctoral Research Associate, supported by a Research Council grant, and 17 PhD students. Our research emphasis is broad, including Bayesian methodology, particularly Bayesian nonparametrics, high-dimensional problems, MCMC methods and Bayesian financial econometrics; statistical ecology; neuroimaging; shape statistics; nonparametric regression; and risk and queuing theory. The Statistics Group is part of the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science.
