Position: Applications are invited for a faculty position in the School of Statistics at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities starting in the fall semester of 2015. The appointment will be at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor, depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
Department Information: The School of Statistics is a leading center of statistical practice, education, and research. There are currently 17 full-time faculty members and two joint faculty members with Sociology and Psychology, as well as 3 lecturers. The School has seen dramatic increases in its undergraduate program over the last ten years, with over 200 undergraduate majors enrolled as of Fall 2014.

Duties and Responsibilities: Faculty in the School of Statistics in the College of Liberal Arts are expected to maintain an active research program in statistics, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute service, appropriate for the rank of the appointment, to the department, college, University, and profession.
Position Qualifications: To be considered for the position, applicants must have a Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related quantitative field. Advanced ABD’s may be considered for appointment at the rank of instructor, with the stipulation that the Ph.D. is conferred in the first year of the appointment. Candidates will be evaluated according to the overall quality of their academic preparation and scholarly work, evidence of research ability, evidence of commitment to teaching and skills as a teacher, and strength of recommendations.
