Applications are invited for continuing positions at the level of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand.
Data Science is a fast growing area and we are looking for people to contribute to the development of the teaching and research programme in the School of Mathematics and Statistics. Our data science programme is relatively new and we are recruiting staff to support the programme. We are also seeking someone to lead the programme and take it to the next level.
In either role, as a part of the data science team, or the team leader, you will contribute to the vibrancy of the School’s research culture. You will be expected to undertake a range of teaching responsibilities for undergraduate students (first to final year) and to supervise research (postgraduate) students. Collaborative research, both within the university and externally, is encouraged.
You should have a Ph.D. (or be near completion) in Data Science, or Statistics, or have an equivalent qualification. If you are interested in the positon for the Data Science leader you should have at least five years of relevant University or industry experience.
