Assistant Professor in Statistics
Salary is competitive with Departments at our peer institutions worldwide and not less than £53,905 pa inclusive
Applications for this new post are invited from outstanding candidates in the field of Statistics. Successful candidates will join an established and successful department and contribute to its research and teaching in social statistics. The post is tenable from 1st September 2018. You will maintain an active programme of research and contribute to the general work of the department, including the teaching of a range of courses in Statistics.
You will have an established track record of research at a level of international excellence as well as a completed (or near-completed) PhD in Statistics or a related subject, by the post start date. You will also have a clear, well developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications. You will also have experience of undertaking research in statistical methodology which has applications in the social or behavioural sciences or public policy (including, but not limited to, survey methodology, causal inference, latent variable and multilevel modelling, categorical data analysis, and social network analysis).
