Funded PhD opportunity: Involving patients in statistical aspects of trials

Where: University of Aberdeen

What: This project focuses on finding out the best way to involve patients and the public in numerical and statistical aspects of trials. Patient and public involvement has been increasing over the last years but it remains tokenistic in a lot of settings. Most decisions in trials (and quantitative research) are related to numbers and statistical aspects. We are interested in developing ways to involve patients and the public in these discussions in a meaningful way ensuring results are relevant to them and communicated appropriately. The project is flexible and can be adapted to the successful candidate's experience and interests. We foresee the application of quantitative and qualitative methods to answer the research questions.
