The Institute of Biostatistics and Registry Research of the Brandenburg Medical School is hiring several Statisticians and Data Scientists. Appointments are initially for three years.
The Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane is a state-recognized non-profit university under municipal sponsorship. The Institute of Biostatistics and Registry Research (Head: Prof. Dr. Michael Hauptmann) in Neuruppin near Berlin plays an important role in clinical and epidemiological research and develops statistical methods.
We are looking for candidates with applied statistical and/or mathematical training and the ambition to improve health and health care by performing state-of-the-art statistical analyses. We offer a wide range of tasks in large-scale national and international clinical research (e.g., breast cancer, Covid-19), epidemiology (e.g., radiation research), and applied statistics (e.g., risk prediction, external confounder adjustment). You will have the opportunity to support clinicians and epidemiologists who conduct research in oncology, cardiovascular medicine, mental health and corresponding health services, and to teach medical students. Tasks include study design, data management and analysis, presentation of results, and preparing research proposals and publications. Preferences in focus can be considered.
The position requires:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in (Bio)statistics, data science, data analytics, health sciences or related subjects
- Experience with statistical data analysis
- Knowledge of applied mathematical statistics
- Advanced proficiency in English and at least basic German language skills
- Reliability, creativity, independence, team spirit, perseverance
Work is 40 hours per week. Part time work and partial home office are possible. Remuneration is according to TV-L and based on training and experience. Candidates with a PhD are welcome to apply.
