A post-doc position will become available in Summer/Fall 2020 at the
Department of Statistics, University of California, Davis. The post-doc
will work with Hans-Georg Müller and Jane-Ling Wang at UC Davis within a
larger research team to develop statistical methodology supported by
theory, extending concepts of functional data analysis and metric geometry
for sparsely observed object data in metric spaces. The methods will
inform the analysis of longitudinal studies for child development, with
emphasis on the analysis of brain image data. The ideal candidate combines
interest in theory with experience in empirical process theory and in
statistical modeling with excellent programming skills.
Applicants are required to have completed a Ph.D. in Statistics or a
related field by the time of their appointment, but no earlier than July 1,
2017. The position will initially be for one year, with renewal for a
second year possible, depending on performance and the availability of
funding.
