Professor Peter Sasieni’s Cancer Prevention Group at King's College London invites applications for a Research Assistant/Research Associate in Statistics Research.
The post holder will be a statistician with a strong interest in epidemiology. The post is funded from a Cancer Research UK programme grant focusing on cancer screening and statistics. The post holder will, in particular, work with studies evaluating existing screening programmes and on the analysis of other research on HPV related cancers. The Cancer Prevention Group is part of the School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences based at the Guy’s Campus.
The appointment will be at grade 5 or 6, depending on knowledge, skills and experience (see the Person Specification criteria). For the Research Associate position the appointee will have a PhD in applied statistics or a related field. The Research Assistant candidate should have a post-graduate degree with a high statistics content, and preferably a PhD or equivalent experience of conducting collaborative health research. Familiarity with statistical software packages such as STATA and/or R is essential, as is competence in standard medical statistics. The successful candidate will be motivated and self-disciplined, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Research Assistant, Grade 5, £28,098 -£32,548 per annum, or Research Associate, Grade 6, £33,518 - £39,992 per annum, plus £2,923 London Weighting Allowance per annum.
