Based within The School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, the Mathematical Sciences Discipline at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) consists of a dynamic group of researchers, which is growing rapidly through a series of strategic hires in the areas of Statistics & Data Science.

We are now seeking to build on and deepen our current strengths in statistics and individuals from all areas of Statistics are encouraged to apply however, the Discipline is particularly seeking applicants who can demonstrate expertise in statistical methodology and/or computational statistics, and with a strong track record in applications-oriented research.

We have a strong tradition in Statistics, and you will complement and enhance the existing research strengths centred on the groups of Distinguished Professors Louise Ryan and Matt Wand, as well as developing your own research directions and portfolio.

Academics in this discipline integrate their research expertise in the design and delivery of coursework subjects across undergraduate classes at all levels, including first-year subjects to students in areas outside the Mathematical Sciences. Their teaching is research-led and student focused, providing a dynamic and practice-oriented experience for their students, along with exposure to external and industry partners.

In return you will get to work in state-of-the art teaching, learning and research facilities with a collaborative cohort of academics. You will receive solid support from the institution in regard to research and you will also be able to avail of opportunities to conduct research with reputed scholars from across the University through interdisciplinary research centres at UTS.

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $101,932 to $116,641 pa (Level B/C)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.

This position is full time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis,
