IE University´s School of Science and Technology (Sci-Tech) invites qualified applicants for full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in Data Science beginning September 2024, in Madrid. We are currently offering four positions in this area. To guarantee full consideration for a position, applications must be completed before Jan 30th 2024.
Relevant, high-impact research and knowledge creation is a critical part of the mission of the school, and we are currently seeking to build a team of foundational research faculty as part of the next phase of our expansion.
We seek applicants with a proven research background who are capable of establishing and leading their own research lines. We welcome applicants with strong foundations on data science, machine learning and operations research.
We value expertise and interest in knowledge transfer to domain specific sectors, including (but not limited to) healthcare, energy/environment, finance, cybersecurity, marketing/retail, etc.

Qualifications
PhD in statistics/mathematics/engineering or a related discipline.
Excellence in research evidenced primarily by sustained contributions and publications in top-ranked and field relevant journals.
Independence and leadership in their research field, evidenced via funded research projects in competitive calls. New faculty is expected to submit research proposals to attract research funds.
Ability to participate in applied research and knowledge transfer in interdisciplinary teams at the interface between technical and application-oriented domains.
Strong commitment to teaching in machine learning, data science or business analytics.
