The Universitat de Barcelona is opening a full-time position for a highly qualified and motivated research technician, related to the project “Data science against gender-based violence” funded by Fundació Obra Social La Caixa.The candidate will join a research group composed by researchers from the Universitat de Barcelona, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Catalan Institute of Health.
Main tasks:1. Data automatization and manipulation of clinical and survey data.2. Support the development of classification machine learning models.3. Support the writing of scientific papers and reports.4. Participation in national and international research conferences.
Requirements:The candidate should satisfy the following requirements:1. Bachelor’s degree in Statistics or Mathematics. It will be valued if the candidate has a master’s degree in Statistics or related fields.2. Excellent skills with R. It will be valued if the candidate has good skills with C or Python.3. Experience with (complex) data manipulation and modeling.4. Familiar with some of these topics: time series analysis, advanced statistical modeling, numericalmethods, machine learning, and statistical inference.5. Fluent English will be valued.6. The candidate should be able to work partially independently.
