The Division of Biostatistics at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg is seeking a (Bio-)Statistician/ Mathematician.
The main role of the appointee will be to perform biostatistical data analysis and method development within the project “Integrated genome, methylome and transcriptome analyses of CLL: identification of pathomechanisms, prognostic and predictive markers as well as potential therapeutic targets”.
Description:
- Development of novel (Bayesian) methods for the integrative statistical analysis of multiple sources of high-dimensional genomic data, with a focus on risk prediction models
- Development and application of (Bayesian) GLM and survival regression models based on high-dimensional input data for the identification of prognostic and predictive biomarkers
- Biostatistical analysis of the data obtained in the project in close collaboration with the biomedical project partners
Your profile:
- Masters/Diploma/PhD in (bio-)statistics, mathematics or a related discipline, with a solid background in statistical methodology and ideally Bayesian inference
- Demonstrated experience with the analysis of high-dimensional data, in particular with applications in molecular biology, is an advantage
- Sound statistical programming skills, preferably with R or MATLAB
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research
- You enjoy team work, but are also capable of working independently
Duration: The position is remunerated according to TV-L E13, and initially limited to a term of 2 years (with a possibility of extension, subject to availability of funding).
