Fixed Term Contract for 3 years
You will be a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Statistics at the University of Warwick, working with Professor Jim Smith, Professor Elizabeth Dowler and Dr Rosemary Collier on the EPSRC funded project “Coherent inference over a network of probabilistic systems for decision support with applications to food security”. This project explores how and when a collection of probabilistic expert systems, such as Bayesian networks, can be coupled together so that their outputs give defensible, consistently probabilistic support. The methods will be trialed against decision support systems used to advise policy on issues associated with food security.
You must have a good mathematical background, hold or be near completion of a PhD in Statistics or machine learning or related discipline. An ability to engage with non-mathematical domain experts is essential. You will have demonstrated potential excellence in research and an emerging track record of publications in high quality, peer reviewed journals.
