Descripción del trabajo a realizar:
Existing networks rely on more and more components and process more and more messages. Finding root cause of a faulty behavior may be very complex especially if several equipments are involved. The goal of this internship is to design, optimize, and challenge a data structure allowing to pinpoint such problems as follows :
- first, historize patterns of alarms occuring on the network to “learn” frequent pattern,
- second, retrieve the next alarms that may arise for a given stream of alarms.
This problem is close to text prediction (if we represent alarm with a character, and a log of alarms issued by a machine with a string). For a single string, one would typically relie on suffix tree. To extend this idea to multiple strings, we require a more sophisticated data structure, for instance a GPL trie. By doing so, it become possible to perform space time pattern matching and find cascading failures involving multiple machines. The internship should be articulated on three main directions:
- the analysis of the complexity of GPL trie under stochastic sequence generation models, Markovian models. The analysis can be held in distribution or in average (and further moments);
- the optimisation of the GPL structure in order to prevent long matching sequence to lead to exponential explosion;
- the design of universal predictors based on space-time pattern matching and experimentation on stochastically generated sequence and real logs.
Fechas y duración de las practicas: La duración será de 4-6 meses y las fechas a convenir entre el beneficiario de las prácticas y el centro de destino.
Lugar de trabajo y horario: Las prácticas se realizarán en el Centre de Villarceaux, Route de Villejust, 91620 Nozay, en un horario a convenir.
Retribución: Estas prácticas tendrán un sueldo aproximado de 1500 euros mensuales.
Plazo de presentación de solicitudes: Entre el 1 de febrero y el 28 de febrero de 2017.
