8 Abril, 2014The Institute of Statistics, Biostatistics and Actuarial Science ( ISBA) of Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL- Université Catholique de Louvain) will open a new position for a doctoral researcher (starting date : September 1, 2014- duration : 3 years).
The candidate is expected to develop researches in actuarial models of pricing and reserving for health and disability insurances.
With the ageing population, new needs arise on “health” and “care”-related issues. Existing solutions should be tailored to these new needs and new solutions (in terms of prevention, services …) should be elaborated.
The main purpose of the research is to develop efficient actuarial risk management and risk classification techniques for different complementary health insurance products to be able to offer a sustainable solution to the challenge of the ageing population. This solution may include: medical expenses cover, dread disease cover, long term care insurance, disability insurance and other products.
Key aspects in this field are long-term forecast of transition rates in multistate processes and risksharing mechanisms between insurer and policyholders.
A good knowledge of the Belgian social security system will be highly appreciated.
