The European Free Trade Association (EFTA) is an intergovernmental organisation set up for the promotion of free trade and economic integration to the benefit of its four Member States: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The EFTA Secretariat provides services to the EFTA States. The EFTA Statistical Office (ESO) in Luxembourg functions as a liaison office between the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) and the EFTA National Statistical Institutes (NSIs), coordinating cooperation in the field of statistics both within and outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified candidate who is willing to take on a challenging post in a dynamic environment.

Division: EFTA Statistical Office (ESO)

The successful applicant will be responsible for the coordination of EFTA-EU cooperation in the field of statistics. S/he will service the Working Group of EFTA Heads of NSIs, as well as various EFTA and EEA bodies. This includes facilitating and monitoring the implementation of EU law into EEA legislation; liaison activities with Eurostat and international organisations, participating in the technical assistance projects for third countries and in the European Statistical Training Programme (ESTP); and representing EFTA in international high-level meetings in the European Statistical System (ESS) and third-country relations.
