ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (TENURE TRACK) OR PROFESSOR OF STATISTICS AND APPLIED MATHEMATICS responsible area applications of molecular biosciences

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Turku declares open for application the position of Assistant Professor (tenure track) or the position of Professor for statistics and applied mathematics, The responsibility of the post is applications of molecular biosciences.

For the tenure track assistant professorship, we seek a highly talented and already merited researcher at the beginning of his academic career and who has shown potential in research. For the post of Professor, a researcher of high international standard is needed.

The post will be filled through a tenure track system first as fixed-term employment periods as Assistant Professor or directly as a Professor for a fixed term of five years. The aim of advancing on the tenure track is the qualification into tenure of a professorship, which requires success in evaluations.

The post is located at the department of Mathematics and Statistics, in the disciplines of statistics and applied mathematics, which operate in connection with the Center of Statistics. The Center of Statistics is an expert center in research and teaching of statistical methods and it operates in close collaboration with the whole university. The employment contract will be fixed.

The salary for this post is determined in accordance with the university salary system for teaching and research personnel
